M Shed has been made possible due to the great support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, companies, trusts and a large number of individuals.

We are keen to build on this by developing a group of individual benefactors who are able to support particular areas of the building or our ongoing learning and public programme. Just as past residents of the City have helped to form Bristol's rich and varied history, we are looking for new individuals who are able to support our work and help to build a 21st century legacy.

As a registered charity, any donations made to the Bristol Museums Development Trust (BMDT - Registered Charity No: 1137777) will be eligible for Gift Aid for UK tax payers. We are keen to ensure that every donation supports the element of the project which reflects your own interests and so we would be delighted to discuss this with you in further detail.  As a small thank you for your support, we are able to offer a bespoke range of benefits including Director's tours, invitations for forthcoming events and acknowledgement of your support.

At M Shed

Whilst entry to M Shed is free, we encourage all visitors to make a donation of at least £2 to help support the museum, our collections and our public programme. Please consider making a donation during your next visit and choose which area you would like your gift to support.

Make a regular gift

Setting up a regular gift by standing order to M Shed is the most convenient and efficient way to support the Museum. This means lower administration costs allowing a greater proportion to fund the Museum's work directly.

To set up a regular gift, please contact the Development Office on 0117 352 5568

Leave a legacy

Find out how you can make a lasting impact by leaving a legacy. The Development Office are happy to discuss your wishes further. Please contact:

International Donors

M Shed also welcomes support from individuals from around the world. We are currently establishing 501(c)(3) status so that organisations in the USA can help tell the full transatlantic story of this great maritime city and its links to North America - from John Cabot, William Penn and Elizabeth Blackwell to Bristol Blitz rubble (used on some of New York's roads!) and Cary Grant.
