A learning journey is like an adventure to an unknown land. So
what better way for young learners to investigate the museum
collections, than by putting on a backpack and exploring! Not only
do the backpacks encourage close observation of museum
objects, they are also a great resource for developing children's
speaking and listening skills.

Recommended maximum of 10 children to one hamper. Ideas for
activities can be found in each hamper.

210 million years ago Britain's oldest dinosaur roamed Bristol -
the Thecondontosaurus antiquus or Bristol dinosaur. Young learners
will meet him and others as they unearth some fascinating facts
about fossils both big and small.

The world is an exciting palette of pattern,colour and shape.
Investigate this more closely by studying the paintings, objects
and architecture housed in this amazing Edwardian Baroque
building.

'Sing a song of sixpence a pocket full of rye….' Once upon a time
children played with spinning tops, tinplate toys, building
blocks, and hobby horses. Rediscover the forgotten toys in our
toybox and bring them back to life. Play, investigate, learn and
have lots and lots of fun!
